Divemaster Journey in Tenerife – Two Paths to the Same Goal

Jack arrived in Tenerife as a PADI Open Water Diver from Australia, already bitten by the dive bug but hungry for more. Chris, on the other hand, took a bold leap — traveling from the UK with zero scuba experience. What they had in common was a shared goal: becoming SSI Divemasters, and they chose the best place in Europe to do it.

Over the course of six weeks, they climbed the SSI training ladder, completing every step of their "Zero to Hero" up to Divemaster Level:

They didn’t just pass — they excelled. Along the way, Chris also took the Nitrox Diving Specialty and Jack added the Wreck Diving Specialty to his growing skillset.

How long does a Divemaster Course take?

Our zero to hero Divemaster Internship usually takes 6-8 weeks if you have no previous experience in diving. Many of our interns come as an Open Water Diver, Advanced Open Water Diver or Rescue Diver. In these cases, you can finish the training in less time.
