Instructor Training Course SSI - Are you interested in becoming a Scuba Instructor? Come and join our Instructor Training Course in Tenerife. The Course takes 2 weeks and will train you to become a skilled and competent SSI Open Water Instructor.
Why become an Open Water Instructor?
Once certified, you’ll be qualified to conduct Scuba Courses as an Open Water Instructor. You’ll be part of new divers' first underwater experience, helping them overcome early challenges and discover the incredible world of diving. Many will remember you as the person who introduced them to life beneath the surface.
With your Open Water Instructor Certification you will automatically become a Buoyancy, Nitrox, Stress and Rescue, Dive Guide, and Science of Diving Specialty Instructor.
Why become an Assistant Instructor?
Once certified, you’ll be qualified to teach in confined water the foundational skills every new diver learns. You’ll be part of their first underwater experience, many will remember you as the person who introduced them to life beneath the surface. Additionally, you’ll be able to assist Instructors in a wide range of programs. As a certified Assistant Instructor, you’ll be able to conduct Try Dives independently — one of the most rewarding dive experiences. You’ll also be qualified to teach Perfect Buoyancy Courses on your own.

Instructor Training Course - What is the Course Like?
The Instructor Training Course takes 2 weeks full time theoretical and in-water training. The evaluation takes 2-3 days after the course. The first week of the Instructor Training Course is equivalent of the Assistant Instructor Course. During the second week you will hone your skills and we will help you prepare for the Instructor Evaluation.
By the end of the course, you’ll be equipped with knowledge and skills in:
- Delivering classroom presentations on a variety of scuba topics
- Conducting skill briefings
- Demonstrating scuba skills at a professional level
- Teaching and evaluating skills during in-water sessions
- Identifying and correcting student mistakes
- Managing and supervising student groups underwater
- Motivating students and providing effective, constructive feedback
